ya i havent really posted much and i dont really plan too, got nothing to talk about at the moment.  My blog will be dormant for a while.  Only news i got is that tomorrow a patch for gears of war comes out, news maps on wednsday, and i get my xbox live gold vision pack on thursday .

..been a while

Ya once again it has been a long time since ive posted anything, i really dont have anything to say.  School sucks like usual, im starting to run now.  I walk my girlfriend home from school.  Thats about it, though I did get extremely excited about the movie “300″ that is coming out in March.  I watched the two trailers 112 times each so ya… other than that nothing has really been happening.  Whitecave covered Ken’s car with shaving cream on New Year’s eve and ya… I got Star Wars Legacy which really pleases the trekkie in me.  My girlfriend’s mom loves guitar hero which is awsome… yup ok im gonna go sleep.

pre-Winter Solstice

Yup It is almost here, Winter Solstice for me, Christmas, Hanukkah, or whatever you celebrate is coming up for others. I am excited that the days will soon start to get longer, Im tired of this cold darkness all the time. Weird though that I like the Moon more than the Sun. Whatever haha, well I have been working on a gift for my girlfriend, Emily, for some time now. I think I did a good job, it is really neat and actually has meaning instead of a lame mean nothing cliche christmas gift that everyone likes to give around this time. Now I have no given it to her yet, and I want it to be a suprise so I can tell everyone what it is quite yet. Once I give it to her I will write another post tell the few people who actually read this what happened. I will post pictures of the gift and stuff like that too, I spent a good 3-4 hours on it so ya. The ENTIRE gift is the present, nothing needs to be thrown away. The ENTIRE thing has meaning and is part of the gift. I am sure she will absolutely love it. Anyways, the new blog layout isnt even started yet haha. Really and truly I dont have the slightest clue when I will build it. Maybe if my laptop could function as a laptop I would use it more often and actually work on it but whatever. I hope everyone has a good holiday. I am now part of the ASB at my school, we had a potluck party today. I made meatballs with a super awsome recipe that my stepmom hooked me up with. Everyone loved them and complimented me. Also my Xbox Live Gold membership ran out today now I cant play Gears of War with Stephen, hopefully I will be getting the year membership I asked for. If not I will buy one after the holidays. My Nintendo Wii is still keeping me occupied so at least I am not bored. Tomorrow I am going to help set up for an Arnis tournament I will be participating in. Saturday is the day of the tournament, I have trained only one day out of the week due to being so busy. I do not expect to win, but I am going in with a winning attitude. If you were to ask me if I am going to win, I would respong with a “FUCK YA!” in a nonchalant what kind of question is that attitude. Anyways I will post about that too, and hopefully get some pictures. Mark needs me to do this for his Senior project at Clark. Life if pretty good at the moment, just busy. I am no going to go watch Clerks 2 becuase I have not seen it for some reason I cannot seem to decipher. Once again, have a happy holiday!

Red Steel

So as we all know, i have Nintendo Wii.  My brother went out and bought Red Steel.  Now, most game review sites are giving this game very mixed reviews.  Some people LOVE it and somepeople absolutely DESPISE it.  Anyways, I personally think the game is great.  It is a fun first person shooter that actually has a decent, yet cliche/cheesy, storyline.  It is dynamic and fun and just a great game.  Now my theory of why people are giving it such mixed reviews is becuase some people are having a hard time making the switch from moving the joystick to moving the controller around.  I am sure there are other reasons I just cant think of any other ones at the moment.  One thing I am noticing about the Wii though as that you need to be standing up if you want to play decently at all.  After standing for 5 hours my legs are kind of tired.  I work out and stuff, though I am pretty lazy… anyways those people that really dont do any physical activity probably couldnt play for as long.  Some people probably complain about that, I praise it.  Basically this means that even though a game may be 10 hours long, if i want to play it comfortably im going to have to play it in huge chunks if i want to just crank it out.  So now my games last longer.  Also i get physical activity from playing, that is always good.  Also this means that breaks are necessary.  Which is good, this can probably make it so people will still go outside.  I know with a regular controller, even i have been guilty of playing for over 16 hours straight.  With the Wii I cant do that.  That is my basic theory on why some people hate the wii and why some people like it.  In a way it makes a lot of sense.  Red Steel is considered a short game, i think i have played it 8 hours or so now, but it has been over the course of 3 days.  If i had a regular controller i would have beaten it the day i got it.  Just seems I am getting more for my money even though i really am not.  It is also a great party game i have found, becuase ANYONE and yes i mean ANYONE can pick up a Wiimote and play tennis on Wii sports, people get really into it.  It brings people together and gets them talking and laughing.  It just promotes fun, and I like that.  It makes gaming more casual, something you can just do for fun with your friends to have a good time.   The great thing is, this is just the beggining, in a year the console will start to reach it’s peak potential, I’m excited and cannot wait to see all the tricks the Wii can do.  Oh ya and as for a new layout and stuff… haha id say just forget about it becuase it is going to take a WHILE becuase i havent even started nor have the motivation too.  I am busy with school, excpecially now that I am in ASB.  Oh yes and the Nintendo Wii looks really good laying on top of the 360, it is almost as if they were meant to be haha.

Emergence Day

Gears of war. I received it on thursday but today is emergence day. They are supposedly giving away prizes and the such, but the scoreboards are so littered with cheaters and the such i didnt even try. The game is absolutely great. The graphics are totally bitchin. The gameplay isnt so innovative, nothing we havent seen before. But it is smooth and fun and works. Nothing is more satisfing than laying an opponent on the ground with the shotgun and stomping their head into the ground. Or maybe you prefer using the chain bayonet to cut someone in half, blood and gore going everywhere including your HUD. Or maybe you are just a straight forward kind of guy so you blow a person apart at close range with teh shotgun. OR maybe you snipe their head off causing a nice little spray effect. OR maybe youd like to run up real quick and stick a nade on them and run for dear life. THIS GAME is soooo addicting and fun. The single player alone has tons of replay value to find COG tags and to get all the acheivments. Once you get slightly bored with that, guess what just go online and have tons of fun blowing people up. The maps are fun, the guns are awsome, and the gameplay is great. I am having more fun with this game than i had with Halo 2, and that is saying a lot. Hopefully before christmas they will release some new maps… If you own a 360 you owe it to yourself to go buy this game, of you dont own a 360 go buy one right now cuz you are missing out on a GREAT gaming experience.

Reading is not my anti-drug

I am addicted to reading… since school has started i have read 17 books.  In less than one month I have read 14 books, by the end of next week I shall have finished 3 more.  No they aren’t just short crappy books you noob!  Ive read a ton of forgotten realms books, lighting by some dood i dont remember his name, World War Z same guy who wrote the zombie survival guide, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and Maus I and II.  I cannot believe how much I am reading but i cant seem to stop.  I am about to start reading some Anne Rice… after this i need to read 1984 by Orwell.  Then I have to absorb the Dune series like a sponge, then from their I will probably read Wicked.  My book list is like freaking long, I wonder what the world record is for most pages read in a day or how many books in a year… maybe i could break something.  I am supposed to write the books I am reading down for some GUSD thing but i keep forgetting.  All my teachers want me to join breakfast club.  I think that is dumb though cuz not only will I be asleep as they do stuff but they are going to force me to read some stupid book.  So instead I shall continue my book absorbing ways, for no other reason than there is nothing else to do… Gears of War comes to the Xbox 360 in 6 days… im not that excited but ya when i get it, thats all im gonna spend my time doing.  Until then… im feeling quite bored.

Well if your reading this and you visit my blog… i dont know how many people that is but anyways.  New layout new header image… enjoy?  With wordpress it only took like 5 seconds for all the changes.   I saw the Halo Wars trailer, going to be an RTS based in the Halo universe.  Since Enseble Studios is making the game it should be good even though it is there first console RTS.  They made Age of Empires though so i have faith.  Doom also came out on xbox live arcade, I need to go get some microsoft point and buy it.  Considering they added multiplayer and co-op im excited.  The bungie.org faceplate contest ended recently, you can view the winners here.  I finished reading the Dark Elf trilogy, it is part of the forgotten realms series.  It explains how Drizzy Do’urden came to be.  It is a GREAT series of books I highly recommend them… I have nothing else to speak about at the moment… maybe in a bit or so i have no clue.  My new friend Stephen at Daily does a gaming vidcast,  I would like to give props to his podcast but cant seem to remember the link.  Good old forgetful me, anyways ill try and update more regularily.  Dont get your hopes up though

finally some fun

well today was alright, i set up a wireless network for my grandma. Got printer sharing over the network to work. Hooked up her Fax machine, and got her laptop connected to her 42″ LCD tv. Been playing WoW on it so that has been l337. Got to do a lot of shit i love to do but for some reason im depressed as hell and that is giving me tons of anger becuase i do not understand. Of course first thing my brain says is “becuase you dont understand your choice.” some dumbass matrix quote that actually makes sense…sorry if i lost you. but ya w00ters and no w00ters
