My First Car.

On wednsday i bought my very first car. A 1990 Volkswagen Golf 8v GTI. 5-speedvolkswagen golf

The Interior is in VERY GOOD shape, amazingly good shape.

The engine is strong and runs well. Needs an alignment, need to get the timing belt checked, get all my belts tightnend, and do an oil change. Some minor things like reattaching my rear view mirror and getting all my tail lights working have already been taken care of.

Everything was great! The car was quick and lots of fun to drive. Ken, Whalen, and I cleaned the throttle body and took out the entry tube on the air box. Now the car breathes better and its louder. It has this low grumble, sounds really nice, like sexy time nice.

So I needed to learn stick, and kept stalling it when id try to put it into first gear… first gear also happens to be really hard to get into. Need to fix the shift linkage :( . I was driving to Tommy Burger and got there with only one stall :) . We ate and we were driving home, and a red light was ahead. I started to slow down, and when the car was at about 10 mph, The brakes cut out and all the tires locked. So the car went into a slide, but I am not an idiot so i stayed calm and held the car in place so we wouldn’t fly across the road and crash my new…used car. So now i had to drive my car home… with no brakes, AND it is all down hill :) . I was able to get the car home without brakes, and without crashing. The next day my mechanic friend Ken came over and we bled my brakes thinking air bubbles in the system were the problem. We bled them and… nothing. The rear left drum brake is messed up, the piece the the brake line attaches too, is cracked. Also Ken believes the master cylinder is bad. Tomorrow, Saturday, Ken and I are going to the junkyard to get some brake pieces to fix my baby. I plan on getting a larger master cylinder so when i eventually can buy a rear disc conversion kit i can put on my new slotted disc brakes. Anyways, the car was fun. I am also having fun fixing it. Can’t wait till i get it working again :)   Oh yes did i mention it came with 4 keys? one for the ignition, one for the doors, one for the glove box, and one for the GAS CAP!!!

300 – IMAX

I just got back from seeing 300 on the IMAX at Universal City Walk.  First of all the art style of this movie is absolutely amazing.  A lot like Sin City just in a different way.  It had awsome fight scenes.  This movie is the equivalent that a chick flick is for a woman except its for a man.  This is a MANLY movie, It is so manly in fact you can almost see the dark ooze of testosterone seeping out of the screen and speakers.  Unlike the graphics novel which was jut pointless killing, this movie had a great morale behind it.  To not let people beat you into submission, to stand for what you believe in.  I loved the movie in everyway.  Frank Miller did take some liberties with the story and made it more of a fantasy movie, but regardless it portrayed a great morale and had a beautiful art style.  Definately a must see movie, it goes on the same level as braveheart.
